Upscayl

It works great on a Mac mini M2 Pro with Sonoma. The upscaling is very good and it's speed is in par with other similar utilities… but I prefer this one because I like the interface and it is open source.

I don´t know what is the problem. I have a Mac of 2015 with OSX High Sierra. (10.3.6). I tried this soft but it doesn´t work in my system. Please, help me, thanks

This app has shown considerable improvement. Although its benefits seemed small with earlier releases, it now shows considerably more improvement than similar apps and outputs smaller file sizes. Kudos to the devs!

Btw, the developer offers free beta testing on his website.

Then developers obviously working hard, went from version 2.0.1 in May to version 2.8.6 today. Let's wait and see how it develops. Potential is there.

A: Yes, unfortunately. NCNN Vulkan requires a Vulkan-compatible GPU. Upscayl won't work with most iGPUs or CPUs. But hey, no harm in trying ;)" - - IOW: CONFUSION and GUESTIMATION, not unlike the general HYPE that is current "AI". <-- As such, be glad it's free. Consider it BETAWARE, IMHO. Be certain to keep your SOURCE image! THAT is what's accurate, not any AI reinterpretation.

The description of this software at this point is disappointing and partially wrong. And of course, so-called "AI" isn't, and what you get is a mashup of stuff from its database that it interprets as an 'improvement'. If you're using this software to tease out detail from a low resolution picture, good luck. That's not what this software is for and is not what it does. - - I'm going to make a followup comment providing a description of the software according to its current home page. - - Again, never count on "AI" accuracy. It's an reinterpretation of input that is limited by its database of information.

app does not do anything this Message pops up: DECODING ERROR=> This image is possibly corrupt or not supported by Upscayl. You could try converting the image into another format and upscaling again. Otherwise, make sure that the output path is correct and you have the proper write permissions for the directory. If not, then unfortuantely this image is not supported by Upscayl, sorry.

github never checks what system app works, probably app Developers are Micro*hore Widows Developers! This is 2nd app my github this Week That is junk on MacOS High Sierra. (10.13.6)

I have a 2017 27" iMac OS 10.13.6. The sad truth is that this doesn't do squat. I go through steps 1 - 4 and click ”upscayl” and all I get is a “DECODING ERROR =>”. IT does the same thing with jpeg, png, tiff, and eps files. Useless!

Wow. Amazing. Works well with M1 Mac. Seems to over-sharpen a bit on the images I tried, but a great, quick way to upscale low-res images. Highly recommended.
